Has this ever happened to you? Something in the world of your hobby/passion happens and you get excited....you really get emotional....you are all hepped up and can hardly breathe????
That happened to me yesterday and today. Yesterday I found out that one of my favorite cross-stitch designers is designing no more!!!! Cathy of Carriage House Samplings is retiring from cross-stitch design. Oh no!!!! She is one of my absolute favorite designers!!!!!!
Then today the Shepard's Bush retreat was announced. This will take place in September and sounds absolutely unbelievable. Pretty much like you were in heaven!!!!
So, I have some serious emotional problems to deal with over here. Getting over the retirement of one designer and the disappointment of knowing that there is something happening that would be perfect for me but for the cost!!!!
I just have to keep repeating....what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!!!!!

go !!!
you will regret it if you don't.....
when i went to squam it was one of the best things i ever did for myself !
go !!!!
I know the costs are huge....but you know what a good idea would be? If you can't do it now it will be again in 2 years. Start saving now...take $10 every week and put it aside. THat way you won't notice it too much and by the end you have the amount to go! Just a thought....
I am with you on the news that Carriage House Samplings won't be designing anymore :-(((
I'm going through the same thing with the Artiscape retreat in Columbus -- I think I'll go, but even staying with friends, there's a big gulp of $227 for classes. Still, I think it's worth it if it's something you really want to do!
The SB retreat is DEFINITELY worth it! I went 4 years ago, and had an awesome time.
This looks so perfect for you. Can't we figure out some way for you to go?
I love Karin's suggestion! Kind of like a "Bush" club and you get a huge wad of $$ when the club is over. How about giving up a lunch out every now and then & save the money you would have spent toward the retreat?
You can do it!!
Hmmm...what to do, what to do... I tend to agree with Karin and Cathy on this one- save a little and in 2 years you will be there! It's hard isn't it??? I hear you loud and clear! BTW- Have a wonderful Easter!!!
I am disappointed that Kathy Barrick is not designing anymore. I would love to go the Shepherd's Bush Retreat as well, but I find the cost prohibitive. I like Karin's idea about saving $10 every week. Maybe we can both do that and either go there or to Virginia Beach next year.
I will be wish, wish, wishing for you to be able to go; to somehow find the money.
