PS

I have a pile of bags near my stitching chair that have various and sundry projects waiting in the wings.  I want to organize everything so that I just have a few projects in rotation and my area is neat and clean (Hah!).  But seriously, I really am trying.  I started going through this process today and what came to the fore???  A lot of Prairie Schooler!  Seriously, I should not buy any new stuff because I love, love, love these projects and need to finish them!
I pined away for Birdsong II for months!  Then I got it and this is all I stitched!  I think I stopped because I was not sure I liked the one strand of thread on 32 count linen.  What do you all think?
I also love the individual ornaments on this chart!

Here is another lovely chart that I searched high and low for.  At first I could not even tell which of the four designs I started as there was so little stitching done.  Then I spied the yellow thread and figured it was for the horse's decorative harness so that is how I know what this one is.
This is the most ridiculous thing of all!  Everytime I look at this chart I swoon.  I mean I really love everything about it!!  And not one stitch taken.  I need my head examined!!!
Another start......I saw it done on blue fabric somewhere and loved it, so I started it on the blue and stopped.....I don't know why...probably some BBD conspiracy took place and I started one of their awesome charts!

Winter Wind.  Another chart I was insane for and had to have "yesterday."  Need to get back to this one too!
And here we have one gorgeous Santa without a face!  Oh, and one hand is missing too.  I need to be sent away to a cabin by a lake for three months so that I can finish all of these.   Make that six months if there is a stitch shop within 100 miles!!!!

Cute, cute, cute! I think I like the PS designs now more than ever.

I think your coverage on the 32 count looks fine.

I love them all
So now I'm taking a break from blog reading and stitching to look at my PS folder, ha! Thanks Laura
I think the 1 thread looks great on the 32 ct linen

LOL... you are not alone in having many projects started. They're all great designs. I would have a tough time deciding which one to focus on too.

Gorgeous designs! Your post makes me want to dig out all of my PS designs and organize them neatly by my stitching chair! :)

Very cute!!! I usually do a stitch by two strand of thread on 32 count linen. However, this one strand of thread on 32 count linen is very very beautiful. I love it!

They are all gorgeous Laura. I must get to the PS I started last year.

Oh no, I have ALL of these and haven't started even one - so now I'm feeling so guilty :-) But it's nice to know they're there for whenever I decide to stitch them. Have fun!

LOL!! I'm laughing because I can SOOOO identify with everything you posted. I have a bunch of project bags wedged between my stitching seat/loveseat and the end table between the loveseat and the couch. When people visit, I grab everything up and put it in a drawer. I try to keep it to just one or two project bags out but sometimes they multiply. I have almost all of the PS charts that you mentioned & love them all. They are, I don't know, like the best friend you know will always be there even if you get distracted by the new friend that moves in next door that takes your fancy for a bit. Their designs are so timeless. I think the one strand on 32 ct looks good!

Love all your PS projects! I think the 1 strand on the 32 count fabric looks good. Now that being said, if it isn't doing anything for you then you could always restart it using 2 strands!

Laura,

You are too funny! I think we all have a basket like this.

The comment about the "BBD conspiracy" really cracked me up. I might have to use that one sometime!

Well, I know that feeling! There are just too many temptations around and it makes it hard to stick to what you're stitching. lol! The coverage of one strand on 32ct. I think I'm in the minority -- I never mind one strand on 32ct. I like the look myself. Hope you get back to these soon. I love Prairie Schooler too!

Lots of fun projects!!!! I think from the picture the one strand on 32 looks good but typically in real life it's not enough coverage for me???? I am the same way though, I will pine for a project, get the chart, kit it and then nothing?????? It's crazy.

Oh, what a great group of PS pieces you've got going, Laura!! Makes me want to pull one out right now and make a new start :)

I've always used two strands on 32, but the one strand alone is giving it a softer, more delicate appearance that is very pretty, too. Good luck with your organizing. I did some Friday night--what a great feeling now that it's done!

Your post makes me LOL! I think we can all relate to multiply projects and why did we ever put them away to begin with? I love all the PS starts you have going and I think the one on blue fabric is my favorite!

Bring them all next week so we can help you decide what to work on first.

I think I could do the samething with two other designers. I am in Utah right now and spent time adding to my stash at Sheperds Bush. Not new designs but old ones like from 2003.

I can relate! There's just not enough time to stitch everything that takes your fancy. Love all your PS charts! They're inspiring me to get one or two of mine out!

Yes, I think most of us can relate to multiple starts/projects. Variey is the spice of life, no?

When I first glanced at your Santa (love it, BTW!), I thought the fuzzy felt(?) at the bottom was added for snow, then I realized it was just Q-Snap protection. LOL! Squint your eyes and look at it, wouldn't the felt be cute as "snow"? I also love your fabric choice for Christmas Eve.

If you need company at the cabin, let me know and I'll bring my trunk of UFO's. :)

I just love PS designs and you're got some really great ones started. I don't think that they ever lose their appeal no matter how long those patterns have been out.

LOL about your comment about the cabin! If there is a shop around you'll probably end up picking up more things to do and starting them - I know that I would!

Fun Laura!!! Ok first of all you should finish that santa. He is almost done and would be a great ornament. Then of course the one on the blue fabric because I know how super excited you were about that one. LOL

Lois said...

I can see you definitely love PS!!! These are all lovely charts and I totally understand why you had to have them!! I'm a 'one strand of thread on 32ct' person because I like the softer look. If it's something small like an ornament I'll use two strands but for anything larger I usually go with one.

Love your new PS starts! I really love the PS designs, I will have to move them up on my to do list I think!! :) Have a great week.

You post made me smile today. I love PS too and totally understand the startitis. Maybe you could start a rotation and work on each one a different day of the week for a while. It's a thought!

valerie said...

Lots of fabulous projects Laura. You better get cracking on that stitching! 1 strand on 32 count depends on if I want a dainty look or not. If you aren't digging it, I'd frog and start over with 2 strands.

CathyR said...

Laura, maybe start a rotation and work on each project for a few hours then move onto the next one. I agree with Karin, you were pretty hepped up over Christmas Eve, so maybe start with that one first in your rotation.

You have a lot of really great starts there! I really love PS too, so I can sympathize with you.

I have also tried to organize/clear up/clean out my WIP area(s), but it only stays that way for a week or so. I guess that the best thing for us to do is to embrace the situation... ;-)

Hi Laura, you know how much I enjoy your blog. I love the pictures on it and the way you share your projects and your friend's projects with us. Therefore, I am passing along the Liebster Blog Award that was given to me by a fellow blogger. There are some rules to follow after receiving it, so you can go to my blog stitching-4-joy.blogspot.com and review them :-) Enjoy !!
