Stanley Cup SAL - Go Hawks!

The Chicago Blackhawks are in the Stanley Cup Finals!!!!  As we have been watching the games in our own homes, we have been stitching and texting with each other.  It sure makes the last two losses easier to take when you have your stitching buddies to commiserate with!!!! Last night's loss was difficult to stomach.....my poor husband!!!!  Patti's husband was lucky enough to go to the game!!!  The game pictures are courtesy of his friend's phone.  I just love the Blackhawks, their uniforms, and their never give up attitude.  My favorite player is Duncan Keith.  Please follow this link to see what a great guy he is and what a wonderful little girl Cammy is!!!  I also love this video with another player, Patrick Sharp, giving a blind fan a really great experience.

Hockey games are intense and nerve wracking to watch.  I cannot watch without stitching.  So, as we watch and text with each other....we stitch too!  Here are some of the projects we are working on.  We each picked something to keep on stitching on during the finals.

Brenda is working on this beauty.  It is from the Dying to Stitch Colonial Gatherings club.  This is a piece by one of our favorite designers, Tanya from The Scarlett House.

Pat is working on the first design in the Serial Bowl Collection from another of our favorite people, Paulettte from Plum Street Sampler.  This was where Pat was on Saturday night and below was her progress as of last night.  She is flying through this one!

Patti is working on the June word play from With Thy Needle and Thread.  She has done many of the months in this collection and should be entering the home stretch pretty soon.  These are adorable!

Linda is working on this fabulous new design from La D Da.  Peace on Earth.  I have this one kitted up and ready to go too.  Love it!

I am working on this design from BBD.  I have loved it for years.  I saw Brenda's finish of this one and had to do it.  I am finally working on it.  See picture of the model below.

Thanks to my stitching peeps for making the tension of these games bearable!!!!

Masterpiece!!!

My friend Pat finished her Mary Peacock sampler!!!!  Isn't it gorgeous!!!!!???  What a labor of love this was.  These photographs were taken by Pat yesterday upon completion of this massive work.  We also have the extra added treat of seeing her beautiful collection of smalls.  Pat's home is just gorgeous and Mary Peacock is going to look perfect there!
This is what Pat said on her Instagram post about stitching Mary Peacock:  "For some reason I am drawn to these Quaker samplers.  The original was stitched at the Ackworth School, a Quaker School in England.  I don't know much about Quakers but I find their needlework to be very peaceful."

Peaceful needlework.  That is such a wonderful image.  Congratulations Pat.  What a wonderful finish!!!
