I only read 37 books this year......that is not very many. I think stitching and napping cut into my reading time. But that is okay, as I had fun nonetheless!
Here are the top ten books I read this year. I highly recommend each and everyone of them!!!
You can click on the book cover to be taken to a description of the book.
Please let me know what some of your best reads of 2014 were!
Here is to more great reads in 2015!!!!

I think 37 books is quite impressive anyway - much more than I read... Well done, and thanks for the suggestions. Happy New Year!
Thanks for your book list. The most amazing book I read was "All the Light you Cannot See" It has gotten a lot of attention, in my opinion, all of it deserved!
Wow, 37 books, that would be a lot for me. One of the books I read is called The Meaning of Night. I finished it the second week of December and I still think about the ending!
I have Station Eleven on my reading table. No Good Men Among the Living was an eye opener for me
It's always a treat to read your reviews by the end of the year. While I had jotted down my top reads, I forgot to post it! I would agree with Barb on "All the Light...". Here are a few more:
The Cartographer of No Man's Land
The Art of hearing Heartbeats
All the Broken Things
The Silkworm
The Enchanted
I've been waiting for Station Eleven from the library!
Fun list! I loved AJ Fikrey and History of Love and the Goldfinch was awesome!
What a great list! Will definitely be adding them to my to-get list. One of my faves from this year was Luncheon of the Boating Party by Susan Vreeland. I need to start keeping lists! Happy New Year!
thank you! I have a pretty fat list for 2015, but I'd love to read some of these too (actually they all look interesting, but, alas, I would never find the time to read them all).
have a very happy New Year, and when you're done let me know what you think about The Miniaturist ;)
hugs, chiara
Happy New Year Laura! I always look forward to your annual Best Books list. I read two of the books on your list, The Goldfinch and Americanah. You beat me on your total books read for the year....I read 30.

The History of Love is my favorite book! I adore it. I read a dozen or so books this year, but most for book groups, and none worth recommending IMO. Happy New Year!
You have some books on your list I still want to read. Stephen King in particular.
Happy New Year!
I always look forward to your Best Books list every year! I read 2 of the books of your list - The Goldfinch and Americanah. Don't say you "only" read 37 books, since you still read 7 more than I did :)

Hi Laura *waving* -- Happy New Year!!!! ONLY 37?? Good golly girl, I read like ..... 4! LOL I'm reading all the Harry Potter books ... a few years late to jump on the bandwagon, I know, but after visiting Universal a few years ago I decided I had to see what the rage was all about. I'd seen the movies but I started with the 5th one, so I didn't really understand the story, or who was who. I also love the Stephanie Plum books for a fun read. I don't know how you find the time, I only read when I get into bed at night & sometimes I get a whole page read!
My original post didn't show up after a few days, so I am thinking I didn't do the "prove you're not a robot" thingy correctly LOL Hopefully, it will work this time!
I always enjoy seeing your Best Books of the Year lists. I read The Goldfinch and Americanah from your list, and Big Little Lies is on my to-be read list. You have me beat by 7 books read this year...I only read 30!

I'm getting ready to do my list, too, Laura. I'm THINKING my favorite will be "People of the Book." I was frustrated with "The Goldfinch." Beautiful writing -- needed editing, from my point of view. Got to get my list -- you are inspiring me!
I've tried before to comment on your wonderful 2014 reading list, but the post never seemed to go through. Oh well, let's try one more time! I always enjoy seeing your Best Books of the Year lists. I read two of the books on your list, The Goldfinch and Americanah, and had mixed reactions to both books. I felt The Goldfinch needed a good editor, and should have been about 200 pages shorter :)
