I, for one, always look forward to September. It is the time of year when the "big" books are published. Here are some of the books that are going to be coming out over the next months. Some really big authors and some really great looking books. I shall be buying all of them I suspect.
This last one is out now. I looked at it quickly at the library and saw that one of the writers who contributed is Elizabeth Berg! Can't wait to read that. Although I am not destined to be a grandmother, I had two grandmothers who were THE BEST and maybe I can garner some insight into their roles as grandmas.

ooh, Laura, thanks for posting this!! I am so excited that Pat Conroy has a new book coming out. Beach Music is one of my favorites. I will be getting this one for sure. I also like John Irving and Anne Tyler. I will be adding these to my list (and my calendar so I will remember to start looking for them in September).
Yes- I enjoy Pat Conroy and Anne Tyler. Interesting- I did not know that about September being a big publishing time.
Hope you are feeling better- lol!!!!
thanks for these...
i can always count on you for books !
Another Anne Tyler fan here. And I may have to pick up that last one for my MIL. She's not a big reader, but I bet she'd enjoy that book.
Oh, those all look great. You always find the best books.
Oh, Laura. I had to write again because the word verification is blesings. How cool is that?? Anyway, wishing you many blessings.
Wow, thanks for the great book referrals. I will be a first time grandma around Thanksgiving time, so I must get that book!
I am a schoolteacher so for me September means it's back to school. As much as I love my job it is still a terribly busy time of year so I now have a new way of looking at that month.
The Conroy book interests me too.
I love your blog, and it's a pleasure to visit here. Thanks for your kind words regarding my MN map picture.
Wow! Thanks for such a good list of books to look forward to. My mother had just asked be if Anne Tyler had a new book and I didn't know. Margaret Atwood has always been a fav of mine, especially her early books. I must have read Surfacing at least 3 times in my younger years.
These all look wonderful. I'm starting to settle into summer reading now, though I haven't much liked any of the books I'm working on, so I'm giving them a break and taking two new ones to Myrtle Beach. Thanks for the recommendations!
Such a great book list. I'm going to see when our library is getting them. Also, I heard the author of "Time Traveler's Wife" is coming out with a new book. Very anxious for that one too.
I looked up the grandmother one and I thought it sounded depressing, as the Brits call it - 'misery memoir.' Not all the essays, but some of them were so upsetting. Just as when my kids were little I preferred to have my own experiences instead of reading about other mother's lives, I think I'll feel the same about being a grandmother, if it happens that is. :<)
