Need vs. Want

Last Tuesday was stitch night at Inspired Needle.  I went for the stitching...oh, and one skein of thread I needed to complete a project.  There it is pictured above.  That is all I needed.  That is all I planned on buying.  Hah!  You know being in a stitch store is like being a kid in a candy store (actually it is way better!!!).

I went in for a skein of thread and I left with another project!!!!  I have been drooling over this Jeanette Douglas design for some time and my friend Pat is stitching it in wools so.........I had to do it too!!!  Gorgeous!!!

Lovely new project, Laura! How do you like stitching with the wools? And Picnic Basket is one of my favorite browns.

If we only bought what we needed, we'd never have any good stash waiting for us! The piece looks like it will be a great one to stitch.

I actually thought you were going to say you really did only buy that. ;)

I would do the same thing IF there was a local shop! But I do have two chocolate shops, like a kid in a candy store.

I can soooo relate!

Love the pattern and want to hear more feedback about those wool threads. Hope you'll post a pic of Pat's finish so we can see it.

I love this one too. My friend stitched this pattern in one color and put it on a treen ware box for me for Christmas last year. I really like the colored version.

I haven't seen this project and I totally understand why it had to come home with you.

I love the new project! Suze Orman just had an editorial on living within our means and knowing the difference between want and need. I decided needlework and stash is a NEED because it is medicine to my soul and well-being!

Funny how one skein of floss can multiply like rabbits! Love the new project. You'll enjoy the wool!

OMG, it's almost impossible to go to a stitchy store and walk out with just one skein of thread. LoL Love the new project!

I love those soft browns. Looks like you have the same trouble there that I do at Michael's or Joann's or Target. But your choice is beautiful!
