Rats!

I was all set to update my blog today.  And I got a message that I had used up all my space to add pictures to the blog.  I do not want to have a blog entry without pictures!!!!!  I have to figure this out.  One way is to spend a certain amount of money each month to upload pictures...and I don't want to do that.  I am kind of having a panic attack about this whole thing.........will be back as soon as I figure this out.  There is talk of Picasa and Monkey Pic or something when I looked on line to figure this out.  I don't even know what they are talking about.   Rats.

I thought I was a genius because I could figure out how to get my pictures from my camera to the blog.....

It seems like everyone is getting that message all of a sudden. Bit weird to me. I'm waiting for the message to appear for me next.

You can resize your photos before you upload them. I use microsoft office picture manager to do this--you don't need anything fancy. (There are other programs that will do this.) You want to make the photos you upload about 480x640 (web large) before you upload them. There is no difference in quality (you only need the extra pixels for printing) and they take up much less memory. I've been blogging for almost ten years, posting pictures for eight, and I have only used 30% of my blogger space!

I had my photos on Flickr for a few years so haven't had this message yet. I think I'm going to either upload to Photobucket, where I have my stitching albums, or to PicMonkey or whatever it's called. Here's a link to a blog post with info about resizing your photos:

Every photo you load up to your blog gets stored in Picasa. You can see how many photos you have loaded to your blog by going to the main Google screen, selecting the drop-down 'More' then select Photos. You'll see the name of your blog and if you click it, it will show you all the photos you've loaded. (Mine has about 900!). It may take 5-10 mins to load if you have a lot. I found i have so much duplication from reloading photos etc. You can delete some of the older ones if you want to clear our space but those photos will disapper from posts in your blog. I've deleted a lot of stuff that's years old. This is part of the reason people sometimes create new blogs because they run out of space. Just an option..........

I think blogger must be plotting against us. The same thing happened to me earlier in the week.

I already had an account with Picasa and have been using that. I'm worried about what I will use when that account is full!

I'm going to look into some of the advice you received from others above!

Not being too computer savvy, I gave up and paid google a bit more money. I'm sure there are better ways!

This happened to me about a year ago maybe. I have to tell ya...I turned my computer off and tried again the next day and I haven't had any problems since. Weird huh?
I probably just jinxed myself.

Awww shucks.....
